What is Radio Netherlands Worldwide?

Who does RNW collaborate with?
We work with more than 3,000 media partners worldwide in various ways and in ten languages: Dutch, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Papiamento, Indonesian, Chinese and Sarnami. What products does RNW offer its Media Partners?
We offer audio, video and Internet articles, as well as access to sources, experts, and journalists in the Netherlands and assistance with studio services.
What are the themes of RNW products?
RNW offers unique news, news analysis, culture and music programming. We provide news from a Dutch perspective, and tailor programming to appeal to an engaged audience around the world. The RNW listener is a concerned citizen and wants to understand world events from a variety of points of view. Specific subjects have run the gamut from water management to sexual education.
Which distribution methods do you support?
We work with different methods of distribution for each production. The option of satellite, CD and/or Internet is indicate alongside each product. We also work with distribution partners: in North America, for example, RNW programming is available via Public Radio Satellite System/Content Depot (PRSS) and the Public Radio exchange (PRX). What kind of audio productions are available?
Audio productions are produced in formats designed to meet our partners’ needs. We produce many weekly shows of 30 and 60 minutes, popular formats for partners, including breaks for local announcements. Additionally, we are making ever more programming available in modular format, enabling partners to select those items that are most of interest, and broadcast segments locally within partners’ own programming.
What kind of spoken word programmes do you have?
Our spoken word programs include discussion, interviews, magazines and documentaries about topical regional and international news and current affairs issues. These programs are hosted in English.
What kind of music programs do you have?
Our focus is on classical music, world music and jazz. We produce live concerts of Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and jazz and world music festivals. RNW producer both fully hosted music series, in English, Spanish, and other languages, and also makes concerts and CDs available for local announcing.
How do I order audio content?
If you use the order form on the portal site you can request programming for broadcast, either one-off pieces or weekly/monthly series. You can also indicate which method of distribution you prefer. Once we receive your request, we’ll contact you directly to confirm.
What video productions are available?
Our videos are available for TV broadcast and for Web-casting. RNW videos focus on topical issues in the Netherlands and around the world, from Naomi Campbell testifying the International Criminal Court in The Hague to Dutch football fans cheering in South Africa. Videos are available in many languages or in Dutch with subtitles.
How do I order videos?
All videos may be requested online, with the same order form used for all other programming. If you’d like to set up a regular broadcast of RNW videos, please get in touch and we’ll create a feed for you to easily add RNW video content to your Web site, updated whenever a new video is available.
What kinds of Web articles are available?
All the themes central to RNW are represented on the English language Web site, often accompanied by additional figures and visual material. RNW makes its Web content available for publishing on partners’ Web sites. Please get in touch to request use of RNW Web content.
How do I order Web content?
You can easily place web content on your site using the RNW widget creator. This widget creator easily enables you to select RNW articles and transfer them to your Web site using embedded code. Do you want to place entire articles on your site? Please contact us, and, once we set up RNW account, we'll provide all the simple tools you'll need.
What does the publication of RNW material cost?
In most cases, there is NO FEE for registered partners to broadcast or publish RNW content. We do require that our partners register with us, and let us know how our programming is broadcast locally.
